If you are in the market for new tires on your car, you may be surprised to know just how many miles you can get out of today’s tires. Even cheap tires are designed to last much longer than it was just 10 years ago. Technology has changed so much over the years that today’s tires are so much better than their older brothers.

Generally speaking, a very inexpensive generic type of passenger car tire is built to go upwards of 40,000 miles. That will last most people three years on average. Not bad for a tire that may only cost around $40.

Move up the ladder and some of your lower premium tires will go for 60,000 or a bit more. At the top of the scale are your ultra premium types of tires that will give you upwards of 80,000 or more miles on your vehicle before needing to be replaced.
